The company is new, but the people standing before you should have been known long ago.
In March 2025, I stood at a new starting line.
Many people congratulated me on my “second venture,” but they don’t realize that my team hasn’t really changed. The group that followed me from Santak to Sungrow to Trina Solar has now gathered again under the EPOTR banner.
Together, we overcame technical barriers to achieve German VDE certification; together, we debugged photovoltaic inverters under the scorching Philippine sun; together, we worked continuously for 22 days to deliver a 100MWh energy storage project for a client.
Before, our names were printed on other companies’ products. Today, we finally get to put our names on a battery we designed ourselves – EPOTR.
The name comes from “Energy Power Optimization Technology Research.” It sounds academic, but to us, it’s simple: Using the most professional technology to give you the most reliable power.
Yes, we are a startup. But we are also a “veteran team” with over 15 years of fighting side by side.
To our friends in the Middle East and Africa, we promise: we understand desert heat and high-latitude cold.

Hello everyone, I’m Mr. Lucas, founder of EPOTR.
Throughout my career, I’ve led the R&D of countless UPS systems and inverters. At Santak Electronics (Chenzhen), the products I developed safeguarded the power supply for countless businesses; at Sungrow, to achieve the stringent German VDE certification, I spent months in the lab working tirelessly to ensure our inverters met the world’s toughest standards.
Later, I joined Trina Solar. The liquid-cooled energy storage containers I led not only ran stably for over four years in large Chinese power stations but also passed the severe tests of the European and American markets. In those regions, if an energy storage product fails, the consequences can be catastrophic. Customers there have an almost obsessive demand for “reliability.”
Many people ask me why I chose to start a new venture at this stage of my life.
It’s because I’ve seen that in Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines, many families, like my own once, are eager to use clean, stable electricity. But the market offers either expensive European/American brands or low-quality products with inconsistent performance.
So I founded EPOTR. I didn’t want to create “just another” brand. I wanted to bring the technologies validated in Western markets and the reverence for German standards to the Asian markets I know and love.
EPOTR’s residential battery pack may carry our new logo, but deep down, it flows with the bloodline of 25 years of global front-line R&D. It may not be the most expensive, but it will be the one that gives you the most peace of mind.
Back when I was a doctoral student at South China University of Technology, I studied how to make electric current smoother. At that time, I thought technology was just waveforms in a lab.
That changed in 2011 when I participated in constructing dozens of households photovoltaic power station in Tibet, China. Seeing remote mountain villages light up for the first time made me realize: Technology is the force that makes darkness disappear.
Later, I visited Pakistan and met local partners. The intense heat and frequent power cuts left a deep impression on me. I saw the helplessness on people’s faces when voltage fluctuations destroyed their home appliances, and I saw children doing homework by candlelight late at night.
At that moment, I decided I didn’t just want to sell customers a cold metal box.
In 2018, at Trina Solar, I focused on energy storage product development. I demanded my team: our batteries must operate stably in the harshest high temperatures and seamlessly take over the moment the grid collapses. Because we never know when the next outage will strike, but we know the food in the fridge needs to stay fresh, the lights must stay on, and perhaps even a life-saving ventilator cannot afford to stop.
Today, I founded EPOTR. Our residential battery pack isn’t meant to revolutionize the industry. It’s meant to provide a solid “power backup” for every family living in regions with unstable electricity.
